In the United States, the rules are cut and dry. There is no legal requirement to notify customers that they are talking with an AI Call Agent, but about half of our customers do it anyway. No permissions are needed for AI Agents to be on inbound calls, but if you are doing outbound calls, you must first get TCPA consent from each customer to use “artificial calls”. As most companies do not have that consent for past customers, they are not able to use AI Agents for contact centers to call past customers.
